Riverside State Park

Along the Spokane River and Little Spokane River lies the Riverside State Park. This state park draws visitors from Washington and Coeur d’AleneIdaho with its white water rapids, freshwater marshes and spacious, clean campgrounds.  The state park is open-year round and a great place to bring a boat rental to. The state park offers a variety of activities including the following:

  • Hiking
  • Picnicking
  • ATV riding
  • Swimming
  • Fishing
  • Boating
  • Canoeing
  • Rafting

Aquatic activities are a favorite amongst Riverside State Park visitors. The Spokane River runs off forming the beautiful Spokane Falls. A swinging bridge passes over the river. From there head out into the 37-mile Spokane River Centennial Trail or visit the Spokane House Interpretive Center and learn about the oldest building in the state of Washington.

If you are more interested in the trails that intertwine throughout the park, why not bring an ATV rental? Riverside State Park has over 600-acres of ATV riding trails. Because these trails are unsupervised it is important to ride with a buddy and always wear a helmet.

The park is open year-round, meaning the ATV courses are as well. These off-roading trails are perfect for snowmobile riding in the winter. Hours are from 8 a.m. until dusk so you’ll be able to enjoy nature regardless of the season.

If you and your family are looking to rough-it with some weekend camping, remember that the check-in time is 2:30 p.m. and the checkout time is 1:00 p.m. It is also important to be considerate of other campers while visiting which is why the state park has implemented “quiet hours” from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Riverside State Park has 16 standard campsites, 16 utility hookup sites with electricity and water, one dump station and two restrooms, both with showers. Camping fees range from $20-$40 depending on the site you have selected to stay at. There is a maximum of eight people allotted per campsite.
